Formerly Cimicifuga rubifolia; Rich, well drained soils that are often slightly limey; Striking, large, maple-like leafy foliage make for a bold woodland accent. In August-September this plant produces a 3-5' tall cluster of flowers that are similar to those of Actaea racemosa and podocarpa. Zone 4-8; TN ecotype
