Solitary pussy-toes is a low, mat-forming groundcover of dry acidic woodlands, clearings and edges. Similar in leaf to other species, this one differs in that it has a single large flower head (as opposed to a cluster of flower heads like most others). The flowers appear in March-April and range from white to light pink. Grows 4-6 inches tall. Zone 5-8. VA. ecotype.
