This small milkweed loves dry prairies and barrens. Similar in form to butterflyweed but with greenish-white flowers. Distribution is primarily western and southern but adapts well to the central Appalachians and surrounding regions. Grows 1-3 feet tall. Flowers appear in June-July followed by especially long seed pods (like a horn). Provide dry well-drained soil and plenty of sunshine. Zone 5-9. ecotype unknown.
