Eupatorium pilosum (Rough Boneset)

from 2.00

This boneset is similar in appearance to Eupatorium perfoliatum except that it is smaller and doesn't have perfoliate leaves. It also inhabits a more restricted, sandy-acidic wetland community. Growing from 3-4 feet tall it has oblong leaves that have a bit of a metalic shimmer. White flowers appear in mid-summer from July-September and attract numerous small pollinating insects. Soils should be boggy and low-nutrient. Zone 3-8; WV ecotype.
