Flowering spurge is a look-alike for the common annual baby’s breath plant. It is a 1-3 foot tall erect perennial with small leaves and a wiry stem. white long-lasting flowers occur from July through August. Preference is for very dry and poor soils in full sun or part shade. Often found in sandy or rocky glades and roadsides. Spreads somewhat through long rhizomes to produce a large patch. Looks great with Bee-balm and wild sunflowers. Zone 3-9. VA/WV ecotypes.
