Full to part sun; Wet to average soil; The tallest of our native perennial sunflowers it can reach up to 9' tall! This tall plant has narrow leaves and a somewhat well behaved root system though it can seed around a bit. Yellow sun-flowers occur from August to October. The seeds, like all sunflowers, are relished by a variety of birds in the fall. Zone 3-8; WV, PA ecotypes
