Do you have a zone in your yard that you consider to be somewhat of a wasteland?  Thin topsoil, and dry, exposed banks are an ideal location for this plant.  The plant spreads slowly by seed, and offers brilliant yellow-orange flowers a-top a lovely bluish green rosette of foliage.  The contrast in color between the foliage and the flowers quite enticing.  Plants grow to 2’ flower stalks included, and bloom in early summer.  Plant in in part-sun to full sun. zones 4-8; WV. ecotype.
