Elliot’s broomsedge is in appearance like a cross between common broomsedge (Andropogon virginicus) and bushy broomsedge (Andropogon glomeratus). Growing about 2-3 feet tall with a leafy cluster of flowers at the top that become noticeable in autumn as the leaves spread out to release cottony clusters of seeds. Very textural and architectural this is an uncommon but very attractive grass. easier to grow than the bushy broomsedge, it prefers very dry and often sandy soils along roadsides and dry fields. Zone 6-8. VA ecotype. // Seed packet, about 50 seeds. Germination requirements: none. Seeds germinate on sowing.
