Small sundrops is very similar to Oenothera fruticosa (Sundrops) except smaller in stature and in flower. Usually 6 to 8 inches tall at most and with small dime sized yellow flowers from June to July. Can seed around to form loose colonies but rarely aggressive. A great choice for wild lawns, short meadows, and garden borders. Seed pods turn red in the late summer and autumn followed by the whole plant. Small and pretty. Zone 3-8, WV. ecotype.
