Saccharum alopecuroides (Silver Plumegrass)

8.00

A beautiful grass especially in the autumn and winter when the seed heads turn bright silver. This is an easily managed tall grass that loves dry, sandy or rocky poor soil and hot full sun. Grows 6-8 feet tall but with most of the foliage below 4 feet allowing one to “see” through the clump. Can seed around to form a large patch. Flowers appear in August to September and have a tawny-pinkish color to them. Very attractive. Zone 6-10. VA ecotype.
