Showy goldenrod is one of the most attractive goldenrods with its tall spikes of yellow flowers, red stems and broad leaves that often turn a nice pink in the autumn. This goldenrod does not spread aggressively by roots and is well behaved. Blooms late making it an important nectar source for pollinators and migrating monarch butterflies. Flowers from September to October. Grows between 4-6 feet tall. Preference is for poor dry soil in sun or part shade. Zone 3-8. WV ecotype.
