Mountain meadowrue is a dainty low groundcover found in the southern Appalachian Mountains. Preference is for rich moist woodlands. Grows 6-10 inches tall and is similar in form to a small columbine but with white fluffy flowers. Seeds are arranged in a radial pattern on the plant and can also add subtle beauty after flowering is done. Flowers appear in late spring (May-June). Zone 5-7. NC ecotype.
