Sun to light shade; Average to dry well drained soil; Violet to blue 3-petaled flowers on 2-3' tall strappy foliage; Spiderwort can spread a bit and is best reserved for meadows, woods edges and other areas where the plants spread might be welcome. Foliage tends to decline in the summer and in a garden it could be cut back which will induce a reblooming. Flowering occurs in June-July; Zone 4-9; WV. VA. ecotypes
