Viola walteri 'Silver Gem' (Prostrate Blue Violet)

This dainty little ground-cover violet was discovered in Alabama and selected by MT. Cuba Gardens for its silvery-purple foliage. The violet prefers moist but well-drained shady to partly shady woodlands. Grows 3-4" tall and spreads to form a tight mat. Small purple flowers bloom from April to October on top of silvery striped leaves. Zone 5-8. AL ecotype.
