Bright, yellow star-shaped flowers on thin stalks with very narrow, whorled leaves reminiscent of fennel or dill.  Full sun to light shade; dry, well-drained soil, sandy, gravelly or rocky; compact plants with 1”-2” toothless, rayed flowers; excellent in gardens, there are a number of cultivars, but the species is hard to find; plants 1’-2’ tall; blooms June-Aug.; zones 4-9; Va ecotype.
